Mind-driven robots
Small spherical robots that run a course, controlled with a headband that reads brain signals. A project born of pure curiosity.
What caught my eye
I came across games and competitions where small ball-shaped robots run around a course. The interesting part is that nobody uses a controller: they are steered with a headband that picks up brain signals (EEG). A person’s focus or relaxation becomes movement.
What I want to understand
- How a consumer headband reads brain activity, and how reliable that signal is.
- How to turn that signal into simple commands: go, stop, turn.
- How everything talks to the robot, probably over Bluetooth.
Where it stands
Shaping the idea: researching which headbands and robots exist and what can be programmed with them. The natural next step is the electronics and robotics course.
Open questions
- Buy a ready-made spherical robot or build my own?
- How many distinct commands can a single headband reliably produce?
